The bears are back making their rounds, looking for food. Remember to bring your bird feeders in at night, secure your trash as best you can, and don’t leave anything that might attract them in your yard.
Also remember that they lived here long before we encroached on their territory and radically altered their ecosystem. Our human caused climate change cannot be making their lives any easier, either. The same can be said of almost all flora and fauna.
Here’s a short video of one foraging in my back yard Wednesday night. She had to scale an eight foot fence to gain access, and it didn’t slow her down at all. It’s not the first time bears have scaled that fence, either!
