The 99% Have Far More Power Than the 1% – Call for Researchers

We all know that 1% of the population in the U.S. holds 75-85% of the wealth in the nation.  Most of these wealthy are the CEOs of the top 500 corporations in our nation.  Thanks to the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act we now have available to the public the ratio between the highest- and lowest-paid earners in a company.  For example, Walmart’s CEO last year made 1,188 times the pay of Walmart’s most typical workers.  What if we published this ratio of all the corporations that are located in the Rogue Valley?  Citizens can respond the way they wish.  I for one will boycott those corporations with a letter demanding that the ratio between CEO and the workers be lowered to no more than 10 times the pay of the most typical worker in their corporation.   Yes, this much lower ratio is working in other industrialized nations.

We have to start somewhere with the income inequality that is causing the middle class to disappear.

Who can help me with this research?  Then we can decide what to do with it.  Email me at  cjvoisin@yahoo.com
