Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest Urges Caution Regarding Water Recreation
Applegate Valley, Ore—July 18, 2023The Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest is issuing a recommendation urging individuals to practice caution when recreating in the water at Applegate Lake. This advisory is in response to a recent sampling by a local organization that regularly tests for bacterial content. This precautionary measure is being taken to ensure the safety and well-being of visitors to the forest.
The Forest Service is currently conducting sample tests on the water. Once the test results are available, an update will be issued to the public.
In the meantime, it is advised that visitors be cautious if swimming, wading, or engaging in any water activities in the affected areas until further notice. While we understand that this advisory may cause inconvenience to some visitors, we appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we prioritize the health and safety of all individuals enjoying the forest.
