Provide Shelter to Those Who Have None; Provide Food to Those Who Have None — You Can Make a Difference
ASHLAND, ORE — As nights grow darker and colder, Options for Homeless Residents of Ashland (OHRA) is holding back-to-back fundraisers to help those in homes stay in homes and to help those without homes find comfort. Together, the events are called “Weekend of Hope. “ Activities consist of:Pasta with a Purpose on Nov. 3 – An all-you-can-eat pasta buffet at the First United Methodist Church’s Wesley Hall, 175 Main Street from 5 to 7 p.m., featuring music by Hollis Peach. Advance tickets $15 minimum donation for adults. At the door $20. Kids under 10 eat for free. Advance tickets are available at the Ashland Community Resource Center (ACRC) 611 Siskiyou Blvd., unit 4.Sleep Out, evening of Nov. 4 – Participants spend one night sleeping outside to raise awareness for those who must sleep outside every night. At the athletic field of the former Lincoln Elementary School at Beach and Henry Streets. To help raise money for OHRA, those sleeping out are asked to collect pledges for donations in exchange for their evening without a roof. Participants can pitch their tents as early as 3 p.m. Event officially begins at 6 p.m. Saturday and ends at 7 a.m. Sunday. Food will be served Saturday evening and Sunday morning.
