Join us for a free event: The Making of the Northwest Forest Plan Book Release |
|
Ashland Folks: Hear stories from authors Dr. Jerry Franklin and Dr. Norm Johnson on their new book ‘The Making of the Northwest Forest Plan: The Wild Science of Saving Old-Growth Ecosystems’. Join KS Wild for a facilitated conversation with the book’s authors, discussing this momentous event in regional and national history and its repercussions today. Tree sitters, logger protests, dying timber towns, species on the brink of extinction; the Timber Wars consumed the Pacific Northwest during the late 1980s and early 1990s and led political leaders to ask scientists for a solution, which led after much effort to the Northwest Forest Plan. |
Don’t miss this historic opportunity to hear these unsuspecting history-makers reflect on what came to be the most impactful forestry plan ever written. Copies of the book will be available for sale and signing at the event. |
