Jackson County Public Health Has New Vaccination Clinic Site – At The Expo Not Drive In But Walk In — Set an Appointment
CENTRAL POINT, Ore. — Jackson County Public Health has set up a new vaccination clinic site at the Jackson County Expo, the agency announced Monday. Unlike previous clinics at the Expo, this will not be a drive-in event — instead it will be an ongoing clinic for appointments only.
Previously, Jackson County performed its vaccinations at the Health & Human Services building on S Holly Street in Medford. Public health officials said that the new site will help them increase vaccination throughput. The new site will be exclusively offering the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
Vaccinations at the Expo are separate from another ongoing effort, the Community COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Medford, which continues to operate with cooperation between Asante, Providence, and Jackson County.
As of Monday morning, more groups are eligible to receive the vaccine throughout the state of Oregon. Phase 1B, Group 6 includes adults 45 and older with underlying health conditions, migrant and seasonal workers, food processing working, people living in low-income senior housing, the homeless, those displaced by wildfires, wildland firefighters, and pregnant people 16 and older.
The next groups become eligible on April 5 — opening up vaccinations to frontline workers, members of multigenerational households, and people 16 and older with underlying health conditions.
