Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump are desperate for a win and we can expect increased urgency from Republicans to pass their monstrous tax scam before Jones is seated and their razor thin majority in the Senate becomes even more tenuous.

But Alabama voters rejected the Republican platform when they sent Roy Moore packing. The Senate should stop all work on the tax scam until Doug Jones, the nation's newest U.S. Senator, is seated and able to vote on legislation that will impact his constituents. This legislation is too big to be decided by someone appointed to the seat by a governor under investigation.
