Phiipos, with a few others, has manned the Peace Vigil at Lafayette Square for 43 years, sometimes for 96 straight hours. Many issues are represented there but lately the focus has been on the administration of Donald Trump. Philipos, disabled, will be there when everyone else is gone. Rockin’ out in Black Lives Matter Square today. Dancing to Go Go DJs, the emblematic DC sound. This is where Donald Trump held up a Bible and protestors over George Floyd’s death (and others) were cleared out with tear gas last summer. Nearby is the “fence” protected by activists. It is a jubilant scene.
