Activist Connection Event at Emigrant Lake on Sunday August 20th

Southern Oregon representatives for Grassroots IMPACT are hosting the August ACE (Activist Connection Event) at Emigrant Lake on Sunday August 20th from 12:00-4:00pm. Grassroots IMPACT (Independent Movement of Progressives Achieving Change Together) is an alliance, building infrastructure for collaboration, coordination, and communication among grassroots organizations.

The mission statement of IMPACT is as follows: “Our mission is to engage, educate, and activate communities and individuals to promote Social, Environmental, Economic and Racial Justice through electoral, legislative, and direct actions.

Our vision is for a just, peaceful society in which communities reach their full potential, enhanced by ongoing civic and political engagement, having access to necessary resources in order to uphold the dignity of each individual and all living beings within a healthful environment.”

We will have live music and it will be a community picnic – ice water will be provided. Local activist groups will be speaking about their current actions and will provide information about how to get involved locally. We are inviting all known candidates for CD2 (running against Walden in 2018) to attend this event and speak about their candidacy. Other local elected officials and potential candidates are invited to speak as well.
