A brand-new poll released moments ago by Reuters and the UVA Center for Politics took a serious look at likely voters in Texas. Here’s what they found:
“Representative Beto O'Rourke of Texas had a 2-percentage-point LEAD over Cruz among likely voters in the state”
This is the first major poll of the campaign that has shown our grassroots campaign AHEAD of Cruz. And it’s an incredible sign of what can happen if we continue to work every hour of every day, continue to talk to every voter in every county, and continue to do everything we can to get Beto’s back.
This is a pivotal moment. And we absolutely can’t afford to take anything for granted. We’ve got to keep our heads down and work harder than ever before to elect Beto. That means knocking on more doors. Making more phone calls. Having more and more conversations with Texans about Beto’s positive, people-powered campaign for U.S. Senate.
But we’ve got to face the facts — there are PACs, Super PACs, and special interest groups waking up to this same news. They’re going to double and triple down on their efforts to slow our momentum and retake the lead.
Reuters says all signs point to a “tightening Texas race.” Together, we’re building the largest Get Out The Vote (GOTV) campaign in Texas history — because that’s what it’s going to take to win this. And it’s going to take every single one of us digging deep and chipping in what we can.
Thanks for making our campaign possible.
